Rental terms

In force from the day Car4You Alicante starts providing services.

§1. Definitions

Rental company – Car4You Alicante, providing short-term passenger car rental services in Spain.

Renter – the natural person who signs the rental agreement with the Rental company and is listed as the driver.

Vehicle – the passenger car covered by the rental agreement, described in the handover protocol.

Agreement – the rental agreement concluded between the Rental company and the Renter, of which these Terms form an integral part.

§2. Booking and agreement

The vehicle is booked via the website form, e-mail or phone. The booking is confirmed once accepted by the Rental company.

The rental agreement is concluded when the Renter signs the vehicle handover protocol. Placing a booking implies acceptance of these Terms.

The minimum rental period is 24 hours. Returning the vehicle more than 59 minutes late is charged as an additional day.

§3. Driver requirements

  • at least 21 years old,
  • valid category B driving licence held for at least 2 years,
  • valid ID document (national ID or passport).

Only the person named in the agreement may drive the vehicle. Additional drivers must be added to the agreement before handover and meet the same requirements.

§4. Payment and deposit

The rental fee is paid in advance according to the price list valid on the booking date. We accept card payments and bank transfers.

Car4You Alicante does not collect a deposit or place a hold on your credit card at pickup, unless these Terms state otherwise for a specific vehicle group.

§5. Vehicle handover and return

The vehicle is delivered clean, technically sound, with all documents and equipment listed in the protocol. The Renter must inspect the vehicle at pickup and raise any concerns before signing the protocol.

The vehicle is returned at the location and time specified in the agreement, in condition not worse than normal wear, with a full tank and complete equipment.

If the vehicle is returned to a different location, more than 59 minutes late, or cannot be handed back to staff, the Rental company may charge additional fees per the price list.

§6. Use of the vehicle

The Renter undertakes to:

  • use the vehicle for its intended purpose and per the manufacturer's manual,
  • comply with the traffic rules of the country of use,
  • protect the vehicle against theft (lock it, arm the alarm, keep documents outside the car),
  • not transport animals without prior consent of the Rental company,
  • observe a strict no-smoking policy inside the vehicle.

In particular, it is forbidden to:

  • drive under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medication affecting the ability to drive,
  • tow other vehicles, take part in races, rallies or test drives,
  • carry loads inconsistent with the vehicle's purpose or exceeding its permissible payload,
  • sublet the vehicle to third parties,
  • make any modifications or conversions to the vehicle.

§7. Cross-border travel

The vehicle is intended for use in mainland Spain and Portugal at no extra charge. Travel to other countries (e.g. Andorra, France, Morocco) requires prior written consent from the Rental company.

§8. Fuel and running costs

The vehicle is delivered with a full tank and must be returned the same way. If returned with less fuel, the Renter covers the missing fuel cost.

Fuel, tolls, parking and any fines during the rental period are the Renter's responsibility.

§9. Insurance and liability

Vehicles carry third-party liability and comprehensive insurance in line with Spanish law, including glass and tyres. Full policy details are provided to the Renter on request.

In case of damage, the Renter must notify the Rental company immediately and, when required, the local police (Guardia Civil / Policía Local) and obtain a statement of the incident.

Insurance does not cover damage caused by gross violation of the Terms, driving under the influence, use inconsistent with the vehicle's purpose or wilful acts. In such cases the Renter is liable for the full damage amount.

§10. Breakdown

In case of a breakdown, the Renter must contact the Rental company immediately. Repairing the vehicle on your own is not allowed without prior consent.

§11. Cancellation and changes

Free cancellation is available at least 48 hours before the planned pickup. After that, the Rental company reserves the right to retain an amount equal to one day of rental.

Date changes are subject to fleet availability and require confirmation by the Rental company.

§12. Personal data

The controller of the Renter's personal data is Car4You Alicante. Data is processed solely to perform the rental agreement, issue accounting documents and meet the controller's legal obligations.

The Renter has the right to access, correct, delete their data and object to processing. Details are set out in the Privacy Policy.

§13. Complaints

Complaints can be submitted by e-mail to the Rental company's contact address. Complaints are handled within 14 days of receipt.

§14. Final provisions

Matters not covered by these Terms are governed by Spanish law and, where permitted, the Polish Civil Code.

The Rental company reserves the right to amend these Terms. Changes do not affect agreements concluded before their effective date.
